In addition to our client projects, we are actively developing a software tool designed as a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution, a tool for Dynamic Story Design.
 
The Role
We’re looking for an AI Developer Intern to join our team and help build innovative AI solutions for our tool. In this role, you will be responsible for developing AI logic to validate storylines against game mechanics and creating NPCs (non-player characters) with dynamic memory systems. If you’re passionate about AI and game development, this is a unique opportunity to bring your ideas to life.
 
Responsibilities

• Develop AI systems that analyze and check written storylines for consistency with game logic
• Create NPCs with memory systems to enable dynamic, personalized interactions within the game.
• Collaborate with the development team to integrate AI features seamlessly into Rhizome.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable AI code.
• Research and implement cutting-edge AI techniques to enhance gameplay experiences.
• Test and refine AI systems to ensure optimal performance in real-world scenarios.

Must-Haves

• Strong understanding of AI principles and techniques, including machine learning and logic systems.
• Experience or familiarity with AI in game development, especially in areas like NPC behavior and game logic validation.
• Proficiency in a programming language commonly used in AI development (e.g., Python, C++).
• Problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team.
• Proficiency in English and/or Dutch.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) for analyzing narrative elements.
• Knowledge of neural networks and memory-based AI systems.
• Experience with AI in storytelling or game design contexts.
• Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
• Passion for storytelling and narrative-driven experiences.
