Game Prototyping Programmer (Unity)

PreviewLabs specializes in the creation of software prototypes across various game development technologies. Our expertise spans from PC and mobile games to educational games, simulations, data visualization, and VR/AR applications. Our client portfolio includes a diverse array of industries from prominent corporations such as Activision Blizzard Media and Disney Imagineering, esteemed academic institutions such as Yale University, and numerous startups.

We are looking for a Unity3D programmer with a passion for game development for a hybrid position in the town of Wetteren in Belgium. Please apply only if you can be employed in Belgium, and are either comfortably commuting to Wetteren or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of prototypes from start to end over multiple iterations
  • Assessment and evaluation of concepts for our clients
  • Writing brief documentation for developed software
  • Technical support for our other teams
  • Support of legacy projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science, ideally combined with a degree in programming aimed at the games industry
  • Strong knowledge of Unity3D
  • 2+ years of experience in game development in a technical role, either professionally or as a hobbyist
  • At least working knowledge of PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
  • Advanced (C1) level or better of English proficiency
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
  • Ability to achieve results quickly
  • Passion for gaming with diverse gaming experience
  • Passion for game development!

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with game prototyping
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Experience working with game assets such as meshes, animations, and materials
  • Knowledge of VR/AR/XR development
  • Knowledge of shaders, light maps, and particles
  • Game design experience

Practical information:

  • Full time job, indefinite duration contract
  • Hybrid position: a minimum of 2 days per week from our office in Wetteren
  • The candidate can start as soon as possible
