Our studio is on the lookout for a General Manager (Head of Studio) to take on Operational, HR and Leadership duties. The studio consists of high-performing Programmers, Producers, Artists, Animators, Scripters and QA who are super passionate about delivering amazing experiences for players.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management of the studio.
  • Manages the team directly – daily management and motivation of team members with project managers.
  • Mentorship and coaching of staff, including overseeing new employee on-boarding and career development.
  • Provide HR support and consultation.
  • Recruit, interview, select and hire the appropriate number of employees based on the growth plan.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard high-potential game studios.
  • Ensure team harmony, team health and a vibrant, fun but productive studio.
  • Be a strong advocate of the Rogueside culture.
  • Closely cooperate and communicate transparently with all stakeholders and other managers.
  • Oversee and manage submissions related to public grants and tax credits.
  • Liaise with local authorities to ensure the studio is always in line with local laws and regulations.
  • Be the face of the studio at game events, speaking at conferences and promoting the studio.
  • Manage project budgets and revenue forecasts.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across various departments, including Game Development, Data Analytics, Creative, Marketing, Monetization, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to ensure alignment of goals, priorities, and communication among all teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between investors, development teams, and other key stakeholders.
  • Plan and organise team-building activities to foster collaboration and team cohesion.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience working in a Management role in the games Industry or IT industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, are keys to success for this role.
  • A strong communicator, highly skilled in leading & dealing with multidisciplinary game teams (Game Design, Development, Art, Marketing, Analytics).
  • Cross-functional expertise in Operations, Business Development, Finance, HR.
  • Incredibly passionate about creating innovative, fun & highly engaging games and overall, passionate about helping to to the next level.
  • A champion of industry trends, design paradigms, business models & go to market approaches.
  • Project management, coaching,  mentorship or project delivery experience.
  • Outgoing personality with expertise at developing solid relationships internally and externally.
  • A creative force. Someone capable of coming up with multiple ideas and solutions to a wide array of challenges.
  • An exceptional team player that embraces transparency, honesty & humility.
  • Experience working with international teams.
  • Understanding of game or product development life cycles.
  • Player and People-focused.
  • Able to independently make decisions.
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
