International Business Development Manager

About the role:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be jointly responsible for the international expansion of our client portfolio. Over a year ago, Play It took its first steps towards accelerating international growth by establishing a team for the Dutch market and Dutch clients have already come on board.

With this new addition, we aim to ramp up our conquest of international markets even further. Your role involves generating leads through prospecting and events, as well as following up on inbound opportunities generated by marketing colleagues. You will be responsible for the entire sales cycle up to contract signing. Once clients are on board, you will work alongside the Customer Success team to expand our revenue. If you are passionate about sales and business development, and thrive on prospecting and closing (enterprise) deals, then you might be the perfect fit to join our team!

Main responsibilities:

  • Your primary responsibility is to build an international enterprise client portfolio and revenue.
  • You actively seek out new companies and challenges, managing them from prospecting to sale, with a focus on selected industries/sectors.
  • You ensure proper tracking and reporting of all opportunities in Play it’s CRM system (Pipedrive – migrating to Hubspot).
  • During meetings/demos, you inform prospects about our solutions/tools and convince them of the power of game-based learning and the ROI it can deliver for their organizations. You discuss training related to safety, prevention, cybersecurity, GDPR, etc.
  • You attend networking events and trade shows to meet new people within our target audiences, showcase our products, and pitch them.
  • Once clients are on board, you ensure a smooth handover to the Customer Success colleagues.
  • You report directly to our Chief Revenue Officer.

What we are looking for:

  • You live in Belgium and will work hybrid. As a Business Development Manager, you will also frequently be on the road to attend sales meetings in other locations in Belgium or the Netherlands one to two times a week on average.
  • You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software in general.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales role targeting medium to large companies (500+ employees). Preferably, you are familiar with at least one of the following target groups: HR Managers, safety experts, training/L&D departments, IT, cybersecurity, or GDPR representatives (DPO/CISO).
  • You have the numbers to substantiate the success of this previous experience.
  • You have at least some experience in B2B SaaS.
  • You are 100% committed to achieving targets and objectives.
  • You are a self-starter, able to work independently and take responsibility. Yet, you are also a team player who enjoys collaborating with (inter)national teams.
  • You have a service-oriented approach, building trust with your prospects and clients.
  • You are flexible and have integrity, working independently, efficiently, methodically, and results-oriented.
  • You are a good listener, identifying customer needs and proposing solutions based on this information.
  • You can communicate fluently in Dutch and English. A good knowledge of French is a big plus.
