Gameplay Programmer

Level of experience: regular/medior level role.

We are looking for a gameplay programmer to work on our upcoming title, BattleSage. Applicants should have a preference for working in a creative, young and collaborative indie studio. Like the rest of our team, you will be actively involved in designing and shaping the end product by participating in playtests and brainstorms.
You will be responsible both for improving existing gameplay features and for creating new ones. These could be related to new enemies, puzzles, dialogues, quests… Knowledge of and experience with Unreal Engine are a must, as is previous experience working in the industry.
This is a full-time, on-site position. We do also accept freelancers for this role.
Responsibilities

•     Collaborate with the team to achieve envisioned game design.
•     Write clean, readable, reliable, and portable code.
•     Author new gameplay features and improve on existing ones.
•     Write clear documentation and guides for our designers.
•     Participate in code reviews.
•     Actively participate in design brainstorms and playtests.

Requirements

•     Ability to work on site in Ghent, Belgium.
•     Strong understanding of Unreal Engine Blueprints and C++.
•     Strong problem solving skills.
•     Enthusiasm and proactive mindset to tackle tasks and problems.
•     Strong communication skills.
•     2+ years of industry experience developing games.
•     Proficiency in C/C++.
•     Skilled at performance analysis, optimization, and debugging
•     Strong math skills
•     An avid gamer with a passion for making games and game technology.
•     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering.

Pluses

•     1 or more shipped titles.
•     Proven experience in a niche (AI, Shaders, Animation, Engine, ProcGen, NetCode, porting…)
