GALA 2026

We’re delighted to reveal the home of GALA 2026: the “𝗟𝘂𝗶𝗴𝗶 𝗭𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻” 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲, inside the historic 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼, in the heart of L’Aquila’s old town. And what a fitting place it is. The monastery’s origins reach back to the 12th century, when it was home first to Benedictine and then Celestine nuns. Damaged by the 2009 earthquake, it was carefully restored and fully reopened in 2024, reborn as a modern congress centre right in the city centre. It’s a building that tells the same story as the city around it: history preserved, brought back to life, and given a new purpose.
