1. Introduction
Welcome to gameindustry.be (the “Service”), operated by Game Industry Belgium. The Service catalogues the Belgian video game industry, including companies, games, jobs, events, and mentors. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).
2. Acceptance of Terms
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
3. YouTube Terms of Service
The Service uses YouTube API Services. By using the Service, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Information collected via YouTube API Services is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Use of the Service
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not:
- scrape, crawl, or harvest data outside the documented public API and rate limits;
- circumvent or interfere with security or access controls;
- upload or submit unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation in submissions or claims;
- use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.
5. User-Submitted Content
When you submit content (e.g. via mentor contact, event submission, or API key holder actions), you retain ownership but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content as part of the Service.
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of any content you submit.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, its design, code, and original content are owned by Game Industry Belgium or its licensors. Game metadata and imagery are provided in part via the IGDB API and remain the property of their respective owners.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates third-party services including YouTube and IGDB. Your use of those services is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Game Industry Belgium shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or harms the Service or other users.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
