Senior Technical Game Designer

Cyborn is looking for a senior technical game designer who is experienced in technical systems, action-adventure level design and game flow, and who can set up blockouts directly in Unreal Engine. You will be the bridge between vision and implementation on our ambitious new VR title, communicating design vision clearly to the team and aligning with product owners.
Responsibilities
- You will create level blockouts directly in Unreal Engine and iterate them into polished gameplay spaces.
- You will design game flow, pacing, encounter design and systemic gameplay for an action-adventure structure (exploration, traversal, puzzles, combat and progression).
- You will prototype and tune mechanics in-engine using Blueprints.
- You will communicate design vision clearly to the team and align with product owners and external stakeholders.
- You communicate daily with the production manager.
Requirements
- You have several years of experience as a (technical) game designer and have shipped at least one title, preferably in the action-adventure genre.
- You have strong Unreal Engine skills and are comfortable setting up blockouts, scripting and prototyping independently.
- You have excellent communication skills and are able to articulate and defend design vision with both the dev team and product owners.
- You have actual VR game design experience and a genuine passion for VR games (strongly preferred).
- You know how to work with source control.
- You have a great attention for detail.
- You have a positive work drive and can work efficiently towards tight deadlines.
- You are willing to work on location in Antwerp, Belgium.
