Game Audio BBQ (Gamescom 2026)

Come and hang with me and fellow game professionals in my studio garden. Free Burgers and non alcoholic drinks wait for you.

If you are still around Saturday, come out to my place in Meerbusch for a barbecue with people who care about how games sound. No panels, no badge scanning, no queue for coffee — just a grill, a garden, and the kind of conversation you never quite manage on the show floor.

Who it's for

It's called the Game Audio Barbecue, but you don't need to be a sound designer to come. If you're at gamescom, if you're a developer, producer or composer, or if you're simply in the area and curious about sound design, Foley and game audio — you're welcome. Last year's group was a proper mix of disciplines and it was a really chilled experience.

What's included

Everything. Food, drinks, the grill, the garden a studio tour. The event is free — just bring yourself. This event is alcohol and pork free! Vegetarian and vegan food will be served alongside Burgers.

Leave your phone number when you register

Optional, but I'd recommend it. If you add a number, I'll add you to a WhatsApp group ahead of the event. We introduce ourselves there, and — more practically — sort out who's driving and who needs a seat.

Getting here

A fair warning: public transport from Cologne out to my place is genuinely painful. Rent a car, split an Uber, or team up with someone in the WhatsApp group. Worth planning before the day rather than on it.

I'm running a Foley workshop on Sunday, 30 August. It's a two-minute walk from the DORMERO to my studio, so if you stay the night you can roll straight into it the next morning. Separate booking — details to follow.
